Natural Skin Care: How to Treat Adult Acne

by Abigail McKenzee

Once puberty is over many young people no longer have to worry about acne breakouts. However, for some people this is simply not true. A lot of people go through their adult life suffering from what is known as, adult acne.

Just like teenage acne, there is apparently no particular cause. Many specialists say that adult acne is linked to genetics or hormones, but no matter the cause, there is always a viable treatment.

Before you ask yourself, why bother, keep in mind that if acne is not treated appropriately or is treated too late, it can lead to acne scarring. I am sure that you would prefer to deal with your acne on a daily basis than have to live with the scars it can produce.

To help you with your fight against adult acne, we will focus on one type of acne treatment: natural skin care.

Natural Acne Treatment

For the most part, acne problems are usually treated with a medicated acne cream or a rigorous cleansing routine. However, if you don't like using medical treatments or have had a bad experience, you might want to try natural methods which are not only more gentle but just as effective.

In general, you should avoid popping any pimples or picking at any scabs. Doing either will irritate your skin and eventually lead to acne scarring. Also, try and keep your hair out of your face. Hair can easily transfer oils and possible bacteria to your skin.

Other simple tips include eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and less fried food or junk foods. You should also wash your bed sheets frequently to avoid the transfer of oils and dirt to your skin. Now that we have that out of the way, let's take a look at the natural products that can help alleviate your acne problems.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree, a native tree from Australia. It is great for fighting acne because it contains bacteria-fighting substances called "terpenes". Acne is often caused by bacteria and the use of terpenes can help destroy or weaken them.

Tea tree oil has very little side effects. However, it can irritate sensitive skin, so proceed with caution.

Aloe Vera

The watery gel from this succulent plant is very effective against acne. It is very rich in enzymes and has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

Honey

Honey is a very common acne treatment. It has been used as an anti-bacterial product for centuries. Because of its low water content and acidic pH level, it is a poor environment for the growth of bacteria.

This is great news for acne sufferers. As mentioned previously, acne is generally caused by bacteria so using honey masks can help eliminate these bacteria.

A safe and effective acne treatment is key to preventing acne scars and helping promote healthy skin. BIOSKINFORTE is an adult acne cream that contains and revolutionary natural ingredient - snail serum. This wondrous ingredient has anti bacterial and antiseptic properties that can help you combat the bacteria that is responsible for causing acne.
